Graphic art is the result of a highly specialised artistic process, where the artist creates an original work that is inherently diverse, but where the edition is limited to a set number of prints, approved by the artist with his or her original signature. Selling Faroese and Icelandic art in an international market has long been a tradition of ours, and we’re now focusing on the best classic and modern art from the Faeroe Islands and Iceland. Nature’s play, changeability and structures are common threads running through Faroese art history, while Iceland’s art history has many points of contact and exchanges with Denmark as a result of strong cultural ties over the centuries. We will be hosting a third major CoBrA Live Auction and subsequent Online Auction in December 2024. Once again, the focus is on one of the most pioneering art movements of the 20th century, which influenced a large group of artists over several decades. We will highlight the creativity, community, spontaneity and experimental approach to art that represent the core ideas of CoBrA. To raise awareness for the auction, highlighted works will be shown in a travelling exhibition around Europe. See more
