Together with Bonhams’ global network of auction houses, Bruun Rasmussen will be holding a Live Auction in September 2024 entitled “Force of Nature – Georg Jensen and Axel Salto”. The auction will focus on two of the biggest names in 20th century Danish decorative art.
As the master of silver and the master of ceramics, they were both pioneers in their respective fields, inspiring generations of artists, and they both used nature as a starting point for their design. Through his hollowware and jewellery, Georg Jensen depicted the beauty of nature in a naturalistic way, while Axel Salto interpreted nature’s raw primordial powers with his budding, sprouting and rippled shapes.
