A set of 12 Danish silver place plates, of octagonal form, shallow well, upturned lobed-profiled dish rim cast with gadrooned edge. Seven pieces Hugo Grün, Copenhagen 1937, five pieces apparently no maker's mark, Copenhagen 1936. Weight 6.787 g. Diam. 27 cm. (13)

Provenance: Kaj Erik Teglstrup (1890–1954) and his wife, Ella Teglstrup, née Larsen (1898–1989), Kongens Lyngby. He was physician to King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine of Denmark, Hereditary Prince Knud and Hereditary Princess Caroline-Mathilde of Denmark and their three children. The practice of medicine brought invitations to Royal court balls and travels.

Condition

The place plates are in good, original and useable condition. We have only observed one with two rubber band stripes on the reverse, one with one rubber band stripe on the reverse, minimal wear due to age and use in the form of few and small scratches and marks in various degrees
