(Julius) Robert Oppenheimer was an American theoretical physicist and from 1943–1945 head of the Los Alamos Laboratory in New Mexico, where the world's first atomic bomb was developed. This photograph used in the obituary of Robert Oppenheimer, who died on February 18, 1967.
