Robert Oppenheimer (1904–1967) during a lecture at The Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton University, New Jersey. Back with agency and publisher stamps as well as stamped and handwritten publication date (February 20, 1967). Photo shoot from 1956. Present development 1967 or earlier. Double glazing and oak wood frame. Visible size 20×14 cm. Frame size 30×24 cm.

(Julius) Robert Oppenheimer was an American theoretical physicist and from 1943–1945 head of the Los Alamos Laboratory in New Mexico, where the world's first atomic bomb was developed. This photograph used in the obituary of Robert Oppenheimer, who died on February 18, 1967.

Condition

This is an original b/w silver gelatin press photograph from 1967, which has yellowed slightly. Surface slightly speckled. No further remarks.
