Steam, tin plate and mechanics
Now is the perfect opportunity to add to or complete your toy collection with the 12 catalogue numbers of old toys at the current online auction.
Toys from Germany
We have a particularly large number of steam engines from the German toy manufacturer Gebrüder Bing – also known as “Bing”. The company was founded in Nuremberg, Germany, in 1863 by brothers Ignaz and Adolf Bing. Production and international exports grew rapidly, and by the beginning of the 1900s, Gebrüder Bing was one of the world’s leading toy manufacturers. Despite producing everything from teddy bears to ships, the brothers were best known for their mechanical and steam-powered toys.
The auction features several of the hugely popular steam engines from Gebrüder Bing, but there are also toys from other manufacturers – e.g. a locomotive and a steam engine from Bing’s German competitors Märklin and Doll and Cie.
