Bruun Rasmussen Wins Award

Bruun Rasmussen's Google solution, which ensures better prices for sellers, was honoured at the Danish Internet Awards.

 

At DIA09, Danish Internet Awards, prices are given for the best, most creative and most effective web campaigns. In competition with 230 other campaigns Bruun Rasmussen won the award for the best Google keyword search solution. This solution, helping sellers achieve higher prices at auctions, beat Microsoft, DSB, Nykredit and Dell among others.

A cause for joy

Bruun Rasmussen's IT Director Jakob Dupont says: "Of course we are happy to have won this award, but actually I think it is our sellers that have the greatest cause for joy. The system, for which we have now been honoured, makes sure that all the objects we offer for sale are automatically exposed in a prominent place in Google. So if for instance you enter the name "Oluf Høst", the first result will be a direct link to the Oluf Høst items currently offered for sale by Bruun Rasmussen. In today's world, Google is increasingly important for us as consumers. This is where we search for items that we want to buy. This way, then, sellers are guaranteed access to a far bigger customer basis than what would otherwise have been possible. In order to achieve the best price at an auction it is crucial to reach as many potential buyers as possible – e.g. by way of Google. One concrete proof that this strategy has been successful is the fact that the international share of our buyers has recently increased significantly and that our traffic in general has increased."

The campaign hits the spot

The DIA09 jury, consisting of thirteen carefully selected high profile representatives with comprehensive insight in internet marketing, argued: "... This year's winner can really sell, and this year's winner sells a lot ... to use “the long tail” within search-marketing is one thing, but to use “the long tail” under the circumstances Bruun Rasmussen works under requires a well-reasoned state of the art solution ... The result is a highly satisfying CTR (click through rate), and Bruun Rasmussen managed to advertise for each single piece of furniture, artwork, figure, coin etc. in Google and to use this strategy to drive traffic into the site! The conversion rate for this traffic was most satisfying, and the increased traffic resulted in a significantly higher number of bids for the average item which shows that the campaign has been extremely focussed and really hits the spot ..."

Bruun Rasmussen was also nominated for the award for best banner commercial and best media selection, but these prices went to Jyllandsposten and Dansk Retursystem, respectively.
