A very rare iron mounted short fully mounted breech loading flint c 1690–1710. The butt cap marked 4, butt with chin rest and patch box with a wooden cover, back action lock engraved with a mounted hunter chasing a stag, pierced serpent type side plate, c 44,8 cm long octagonal barrel in calibre c 14 mm rifled with 7 deep grooves, brass front sight and a faint makers name J. K????L above the powder chamber, a horn tipped wooden ramrod with an iron final held by two fluted pipes. The rifle is opened by pressing the trigger guard enabling the barrel to swing down held by a solid hinge and a loose “cartridge” with touch pan and fire steel can be inserted into the breech. This is rifled like the barrel and is c 9,2 mm long marked 2.
The iron cleaned, a small piece of horn is missng at the fore-stock final.
