How to bid at a Live Auction
Attend the auction in person
If you wish to attend the auction in person, you must sign in and show photo ID at the entrance to the auction room, where you will be given a bidding card. When you want to bid, hold the bidding card up in the air so that the auctioneer can clearly see its number. The bidder who achieves the final hammer price is determined when the hammer falls.
Live bidding
You have the option of bidding at a Live Auction from our website via a live TV transmission while the auction is in progress. Your bid will be treated in the same way as the bids submitted in the auction room. Once the auction starts, click on the “Follow the auction live” link next to the auction concerned on this website. Commission bids
If you are unable to attend the auction in person, you can submit a commission bid, whereby a commission agent from Bruun Rasmussen will bid on your behalf during the auction. The person who bids for you will always try to purchase the item on the most favourable terms and no higher than the specified maximum amount. Commission bids may be submitted via the website next to the description of the item concerned right up to the start of the auction. Commission bids may also be submitted by telephone, e-mail, letter and fax up to 24 hours before the start of the auction.
Telephone bids
For some items, there is the possibility of being contacted by a Bruun Rasmussen employee, who will bid on your behalf during the auction while you are on the phone. This service can be booked via the website next to the description of the item concerned right up until 3 hours before the start of the auction. The service can also be booked over the phone, by e-mail, letter and fax up to 24 hours before the start of the auction.
