Provenance: Dr. phil. J.C. Normann. Ingeborg Stegmann, called Ingie, was the daughter of merchant Conrad Stegmann and Mrs. Louise (b. Brummer) and the older sister of Ottilia Stegmann, whom brewer Carl Jacobsen married in 1874. The two girls were born and raised in Edinburgh, but the family moved back to Denmark (Copenhagen) in 1870. Ingeborg was married in 1872 to Alfred Normann. Tuxen portrayed both Ingeborg and the sister Ottilia.
