The mirror is made in the manner of the Swedish-German furniture maker and sculptor Burchard Precht who produced high-quality furniture in Sweden in the late seventeenth and early eighteenth century. Originally from Bremen, Precht arrived in Stockholm in 1674 to work at Drottningholm Palace and was named court carver in 1682. In 1687–88, he travelled to Rome and Paris with the Swedish court architect Nicodemus Tessin. The trip strongly influenced Precht's work and led to many commissions. Together with Tessin, Precht introduced the gilded Baroque style to Sweden.A large amount of furniture was produced in his workshop a trademark of Percht is the ornamental frames for mirrors and pictures with mirrored og blue glass borders. Weather this mirror is made by Precth is uncertin but elements and design could be from his workshop.
