Pavel Akimov Ovchinnikov (, Moscow)

A Russian “stil modern” silver-gilt and red lacquered kovsh, applied with flowers and insects. Pavel Akimov Ovchinnikov, stamped with the Imperial Warrant as purveyor to the Imperial Russian Court, assayer Ivan Sergeievich Lebedkin in Moscow 1896–1908, 84 standard. Weight c. 102 gr. L. 12.5 cm.

Provenance: Acquired by the Danish engineer and telegraph inspector P. T. O. C. Tversted (1900–1992) in Russia 1920–1930, where he was posted for the Great Northern Telegraph Company. Thence by descent.
