HuskMitNavn (b. Taastrup 1975)
Figure composition. Signed HuskMitNavn 04. Acrylic on canvas. 130×160 cm.
HuskMitNavn (RememberMyName) is a so-called street artist. Since 2001 he has left his personal imprint on Copenhagen with commenting stickers and humorous graffiti. During the last couple of years the artist, working anonymously to avoid fines for vandalism, has proved himself as a professional painter with distinct colourful motives, always framed in black contour lines. Today, besides spontaneous murals, he also undertakes large commissions, among them a large mural for the medical company Novozymes. In this work, cartoon-like figures dauntlessly comment on the firm's employment policies. Through street art, which is always exhibited in public space, HuskMitNavn tries to reach a larger audience. Through HuskMitNavn, street art gains a new perspective on the Danish art scene.
