The present painting is a study for the larger painting “Fiskerfamilier, som venter deres mænds hjemkomst ved et frembrydende uvejr. Jyllands vestkyst” (Fishermen's families awaiting their return in an approaching storm. From the west coast of Jutland) from 1858, which is located at The Hirschsprung Collection (Inv. No. 38).
