Preliminary study for no. 315 in Elisabeth Fabritius, A Catalogue Raisonné of the Works of Michael Ancher, entitled “Lystige folk” (Merry people), which was sold at Bruun Rasmussen on June the 3th, 2002, auction no. 709, lot no. 1245.

Litterature: The final painting is mentioned in “Michael Ancher og det moderne gennembrud 1880–1890” by Elisabeth Fabritius, 1990, p. 173. Reproduced p. 174.

Condition

Minor crackles, scratches, minimal peelings and slight bulges in the canvas. A repair and a tear. In need of cleaning.
