John Safley (d. 1803)

A George III ebonised musical table clock with gilt brass dial and gilt bronze corner ornaments, silvered chapter ring, minute and Strike-Silent to the arch, the back richly engraved, movement with hour striking, repeat pull and six chiming bells and striking bell. Signed 'John Safley, Nicolson st., Edingburgh'. Scotland, late 18th century. H. 46 cm. W. 27 cm. D. 18 cm.
