The work is a study for the painting “Tidlig Morgen i Carnevalstiden paa Boulevarden i Paris Et Selskab vender hjem fra Maskeraden i den store Opera” from 1849, which was exhibited at Charlottenborg the same year.

Provenance: Bruun Rasmussen auction 729, 2004 no. 1354. Illustrated. Bruun Rasmussen auktion 2316, 2023 no. 67.

Condition

Minor tear in the upper left corner. In need of cleaning.
