Verso an exhibition label from 1944.

Not much is known about Adèle Peschcke Køedt. She was born in Zurich in 1895 and was a self-taught painter, probably trained by her husband, the artist Matthias Peschcke Køedt (1885–1945). She was primarily a flower painter, and produced vivid watercolors with great detail, of which the present work is an elegant example.

She exhibited on 18. November Udstillingen in 1930 and from 1932 to ’42, on September Udstillingen in 1926 and in ’41 and she furthermore exhibited on the Salon in Paris.

This lot is subject to Artist's Royalty.
