Russian cut crystal wine jug, silver handle and lid with a standing bear. Cyrillic maker's mark IF/FI, 1908–1917, 84 standard. H. 28 cm.
Provenance: Seller's grandparents, Soya Alexandrovna and Peter Henrik Herløv-Nielsen. Peter was working in the Great Northern Telegraph Company as telegraphist in St. Petersburg, where he also met Soya. They were married but during the Russian revolution in 1917 they fled to Denmark bringing the wine jug with them.
