A patinated bronze figure of Neith standing on a base with raised left hand. 26th-30rd dynasty, 663–343 BC. Lower Egypt. H. 25 cm.
Patron goddess of Zau, creator of the world and the mother of the sun. Neith is depicted as a woman wearing a long robe with a red crown symbolizing the supremacy of the North.
Provenance: From a Danish collection. Acquired in 1940s.
