Kristian Zahrtmann (b. Rønne 1843, d. Copenhagen 1917)

In the background the coast and mountains. The foreground is filled with green grape vines. Signed with monogram and dated 1908. Oil on canvas. 68×82 cm.

In late April 1908, Zahrtmann went to the south of France. The goal was Banyuls sur mer, where he arrived on 10 June to paint. He painted several paintings during his stay, including the present one.
