The present painting is one of several studies that Ancher made for the painting “Fiskere vender hjem fra Nordstranden. Aftensol” (Fishermen homeward bound from the beach. Evening sun) from 1899, which was exhibited at Charlottenborg the same year as no. 6. This was sold at Bruun Rasmssen auction 811, 2010 no. 394.
