A French Louis XVI silver-gilt drageoir lidded sauce tureen, mounted on a permanent dish, of oval shape, domed lid engraved with foliage and cast with strawberry finial, curved twin handles, body and dish chased with leaf- and flower vines in ribbons, herein hanging cartouches with an engraved noble alliance coat of arms, serpentine-profiled rim, dish with chased and embossed shell twin handles, raised on four volute supports, engraved in bottom “801 N. 1”.
