We thank The Art Museums of Skagen for the following information: H. Chr. Christensen has been wrong about the dating of the present painting (Catalogued under the year 1895). The painting was carried out during Marie and P.S. Krøyer's honeymoon to Stenbjerg 1889 and several similar paintings are known from the same trip. Krøyer's painting of Marie sitting on the beach painting is probably the best known (The Art Museums of Skagen, Inv. No. 1712).
