A Danish Rococo silver sugar caster, of oval spiral-fluted baluster form, turning and pierced lid with flower finial, raised on three stylized animal claw supports, bottom pricked with weight statement “3 Wog 20 Lod 1 1/2 Qiin” and “Sophie Hedvig Utke 18–6-1795”. Maker Christian Pedersen Høvring, Hobro 1754–1767. Weight 284 g. H. 21 cm.
Christian Pedersen Høvring subsequently became master in Randers 1767–1782 and his widow continued the workshop until 1799.

Minimal wear due to age and use, including few marks and scratches. Lid a little loose when locked.
