"Lettre D’Amour”
A French Empire figural gilt bronze clock after model by François-Louis Savart (1780–1828)adorned with a a young woman in classical dress sitting on top of the dial drum, she holds in her left hand a portrait medallion of her lover while looking down toward a carrier pigeon, the pigeon sits upon her knee and holds a note, probably a love letter, she has just written to her love. Paris, c. 1810. H. 52 cm. W. 43 cm. D. 17 cm.
