Anna Ancher (b. Skagen 1859, d. s.p. 1935)

Provenance: King Christian X (1870–1947) and Queen Alexandrine of Denmark (1879–1952), the Royal summer residence Klitgaarden near Skagen; thence by their son and daughter-in-law, Hereditary Prince Knud (1900–1976) and Hereditary Princess Caroline-Mathilde of Denmark (1912–1995), the Royal summer residence Klitgaarden near Skagen; then their daughter, Princess Elisabeth to Denmark (1935–2018). Before her death the pendant was given to private Danish ownership, which it has been until today.
The paper has turned slightly brown. A tear in each side (both 4.0 cm). Two retouches in the left side of the paper. Some foxing. Examined in frame.
