Wilhelm Marstrand (b. Copenhagen 1810, d. s.p. 1873)

During Marstrand's stay in Rome, he painted the daily life of the Roman citizens. Marstrand had noticed how the Italians worshipped their children, and he depicts this in the atmospheric interior, where all the attention gathers round the child, even the dog is part of the scene.
