A painting with a similar motif with the title “Husmandsfolk klistrer papirsposer” (Smallholders are making paper bags) from the same year is in the collection of Kunstmuseum Brandts (Inv. No. FKM/1101). “Polske-Niels” (Polish Niels) was the plumber in the village of Ring. He supplemented his earnings by making paper bags for seeds which he sold to the villagers.
