Thomas Hunter junior

A George III chiming table clock, ebonized wood case with ormolu mounts and four pinecone finials, arched brass dial with gilt bronze ornaments and engraved floral design, silver Arabic and Roman chapter ring, calendar, strike/silent and regulation dials, and recessed name plate “Thomas Hunter Junior, London.” Floral engraved back panel to movement, revolving cylinder music box and chimes. England, c. 1760. H. 52 cm. W. 37 cm. D. 20 cm.

Thomas Hunter junior is recorded in Baillie, G.H. Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World as apprenticed in 1734, he worked from New Broad Street, was appointed Warden in 1762 and then served as Master in 1765, he died in 1785.
