“In 1992, Kvium presented the exhibition 'Arvtagerbilleder' (Heir Paintings), featuring the figurative works that followed the 'Chorós Paintings'. At the time, he explained that they had prompted him to ask the question: 'What is the most important thing we, as human beings, inherit or learn from history? In the search for an answer to this question, a number of fundamental images emerged — images I can pass on as an inheritance'. Today, he regards them in the same way, but now considers the Heir Paintings to include 'virtually all the paintings I made in ’91, ’92, and ’93'”. (Lennart Gottlieb, p. 106).
