Provenance: Skandinavisk Dyrepark, Kolind, Denmark. Bought in 2006 by Skandinavisk Dyrepark in Russia. Found in an unspecified place in the frozen tundra of South-East Siberia. Exhibitions: Statens Naturhistoriske Museum: Neanderthaler 2022–23 Moesgaard Museum: Neandertaler - i mammutjægernes land 2020 According to information 80% of the skeleton is from the same animal. In 2007 the original tusks were stolen and were never found. Two pair of tusks were made. The pair shown on this image is the the most identical to the ones stolen. Parts of the skeleton has been restored with resin. We are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional condition report. Buyer is responsible for dismantling and removing the skeleton. The dismantle and mounting were made by MTAB Denmark. Six crates were custom made.
