Greek Hellenistic marble head of Dionysos, head turned slightly to the left, wavy hair chiselled around head and held together with a wreath of grapes and vine leaves. 3rd-2nd century BC. H. 18 cm.

Provenance: Danish private collection. Acquired in 1990 at Kunsthallen auction 396, Lot 422. Previously from a manor, collection acquired in Rome in 1850 from the estate of Palazzo Braschi.

Condition
