Mathematician Alan Turing was one of the founders of modern computer science, the basis for the development of today's computers. He is also known for breaking the German so-called Enigma Codes during World War II, which contributed significantly to the Allied victory. This work took place in Bletchley Park, a manor house in south-east England.
This is a b/w silver gelatin photograph from 1959, which has yellowed slightly. Creased corner. Back with smudged colour. Furthermore normal signs of handling.
