Traditionelle Perpetual Calendar Chronograph’s of platinum, Ref. 47292. Mechanical chronograph movement with manual winding, perpetual calendar, moonphase indication, cal. 1141. Black Vacheron Constantin crocodile strap with a folding-clasp of platinum. Ø 43 mm. 2012
The Vacheron Constantin Traditionelle Perpetual Calendar Chronograph ref. 47292/1 is an haute horlogerie statement piece like few others. Discontinued in 2016, the watch has become a rare collector’s watch that is rarely seen in the marketplace.
Being a 43 mm platinum watch, this timepiece has quite some heft to it. However, when handling the watch, it is the technical finesse and aesthetic refinements that leave their mark. The two-tone grey dial is simple yet highly sophisticated. It tells you not only the time, but also the day, date, month, leap year and moon phase. Moreover, it has a column-wheel chronograph with a 30-minute dial at three o’clock.
When turning the watch over, you get a glance of the finely decorated movement through the sapphire caseback. The base movement is the intricate, yet highly reliable and tested Lemania 27–70. This has been updated thoroughly by Vacheron Constantin to meet not only their mechanically, but also aesthetically high standards. The result of this is the cal. 1141.
Seeing watches like this is a rare treat – owning it even more so. It is a watch that has to be seen in person to be fully appreciated.
Accompanied by Vacheron Constantin box, travel pouch, polishing cloth, magnifying glass, hangtags, strap gear, USB-drive and certificate from 2012.
