Laurits Tuxen (b. Copenhagen 1853, d. s.p. 1927)

In August-September 1903, Tuxen painted several paintings from different locations on Skagen Beach, all with exact dating. For example, “Grenen Strand” (Grenen Beach) 15/8 03, “Landskab med skyet himmel, Skagen” (Landscape with cloudy sky, Skagen) 20/8 03, “Sol med bølger, Skagen” (Sun with waves, Skagen) 22/8 03, and “Parti fra Skagen” (View from Skagen) 11/9 03.
