A Russian presentation diamond and ruby bracelet, pointed rectangle-shaped center with the Russian Imperial mitre crown, set with several rose-cut diamonds and two old mine-cut rubies, flanked by two larger old mine-cut diamonds, mounted in 14k gold and silver, 14k gold chain in similar design parted by oval links, later safety chain. Workmaster August Hollming, St. Petersborg, assayer Jacob Nikolaievich Liapunov 1899–1904, 56 standard. L. app. 16 cm. Accompanied by original red leather case with the Imperial Warrant in gold print, lined with creme coloured silk and velvet. (2)
Provenance: The Danish police director Eugen Petersen (1840–1930). Tsaritsa Maria Feodorovna of Russia was always a frequent visitor to her native land Denmark and around 1900 also her son, Czar Nicholas II of Russia. During these visits to e.g. Bernstorff Palace and Fredensborg Palace, Eugen Petersen was responsible for the coordination of security. The Tsar gave him this bracelet in gratitude for a job well done. Thence Eugen Petersen's son's daughter, with residence in Denmark, until today.
