Samuel Stroud

A gold pair cases verge pocket watch, white dial with Roman numerals and outer 5-minute Arabic numerals, partly gilt movement signed S Stroud London, No. 2103. Inner case smooth with key winding hole, maker's mark PE, serial no. 2103 and indistinct hallmarks. Outer case embossed with rococo ornamentation, apparently unmarked. England, second half of the 18th century. Weight 91 g. Case diam. 39/45 mm.
