The diamond- and emerald-set Tambour Sun Tourbillon with a malachite dial is as extravagant as it is beautiful. The combination of various precious stones in different cuts sounds fuzzy but creates a harmonious dial design. When turned over, the clear caseback reveals the well-finished movement featuring a micro rotor and the rarely seen sunray Geneva-striping technique. Moreover, it allows you to see the back of the well-executed tourbillon with the distinctive Louis Vuitton-type cage. The substantial, yet refined 18k white gold case, combined with the elegant diamond-set buckle also of 18k white gold, makes this watch a real statement piece.

The other equally important and interesting Louis Vuitton watch in this auction is the multi-colored gem-set Escale Spin Time of 18k white gold and titanium. What sets this watch apart is the innovative concept of telling the time. Instead of having an hour hand, the watch is equipped with twelve rotating cubes that show the user one of three things: the time in AM, the time in PM or the waiting position, which is four gemstones. Apart from the pavéed dial, there are also diamonds to be found on the lugs, bezel, winding crown and clasp. This watch is not about the movement but rather about the aesthetics. Hence, the movement is hidden by a closed caseback, although the ring-shaped winding rotor is visible along the perimeter of the movement. Other versions of this particular model are known, but none are more luxurious and extravagant than this one.
