Georg Jensen (b. Rådvad 1866, d. Hellerup 1935)

A rare silver champagne cooler and cover with hammered surface. Lobed body on four double pinecone feet and foliage. Cover with polished amber finial surrounded by openwork grape and foliage decor. The inside with silver plated metal liner and openwork silver collar. Georg Jensen 1915–1925, with Swedish import marks. Design no. 87. Designed 1915. Weight excluding liner 3127 g. H. 37 cm. Diam. 27.7 cm.

Provenance: The champagne cooler was made by special order for the current owner's great-grandfather, the Swedish baron Louis de Geer of Leufsta (b. 1866, d. 1925). Thence by descent in the family to the current owner.
