A near pair of Chinese Longquan celadon bowls, the interior with incised flower. Ming 1368–1644. Diam. 14 and 14.3 cm. Fitted pierced wooden bases. (2)

Provenance: Lise Hüttemeier, daughter of former CEO of the East Asiatic Company, C.K. Hansen, who acquired the plates from H.V. Jacobsen, also a former director of the East Asiatic Company, who was a well-known major collector of Chinese art during his stay in China in the early 20th century.

Condition

Firing defects, one bowl with a minor chip at the edge.
