Provenance: The Danish police director Eugen Petersen (1840–1930). Tsaritsa Maria Feodorovna of Russia was always a frequent visitor to her native land Denmark and around 1900 also her son, Czar Nicholas II of Russia. During these visits to e.g. Bernstorff Palace and Fredensborg Palace, Eugen Petersen was responsible for the coordination of security. The Tsar gave him this pendant in gratitude for a job well done. Thence Eugen Petersen's son's daughter, with residence in Denmark, until today.
