Four medallions of 14 and 18k gold respectively set with a F and a cross of dark blue enamel. Engraved 1864 and 1867. All contains a hair curl. L. app. 1.5–2.5 cm. Total weight app. 15.5 g.
Accompanied by case.
Provenance: According to the requester, the gold medallions were sold by goldsmith John Rørvig's heir to Nyfortuna, as part of the remaining effects from the workshop. John Rørvig received the medallions as part of the salary, in connection with the production of a new piece of jewelery for H.K.H. Prince Henrik.
Goldsmith John Rørvig was the Royal Court Supplier. He made engagement rings for both Crown Princess Mary and Princess Alexandra. Becoming a Royal Court Supplier is a special recognition. Today, 102 Danish companies, and 5 foreign ones, can thus boast of the distinguished predicate. Historically, a special predicate was also awarded to Kgl. Court jewels, which presumably is the predicate the above-mentioned jeweler has had.
Wear due to age and use. The enamel is chipped.
