Carl Rupert Nyblom was a Swedish poet and professor at Uppsala University in aesthetics, literature, and art history from 1867 to 1897. From 1861 to 1863, he traveled through Germany, France, and Italy to study art. It was most likely during this journey that Nyblom met Frederik Christian Lund in Rome, where the present portrait was drawn.

Condition

Mounted on cardboard. The paper has turned slightly yellow. Minor damp discolourations.
