Albert Christensen Clausen Fabricius (b. Ærøskøbing 1732, d. sst. 1805)

A Danish Rococo longcase clock in oak case, brass dial with openwork corner ornaments with foliage and cherups, painted moon phase, lead chapter ring, the movement with date and minute disposal. Signed 'Albert C. Fabricius, Erröes Kiöbing'. Denmark, Second half og the 18th century. H. 218 cm. W. 52 cm. D. 17 cm.

Litteratur: Fynske standure - og deres mestre o. 1700 - o. 1850, udgivet af Gerda Rost: 'Han tog borgerskab i 1760 1/12, men erklærede, at han ikke agtede at blive i byen. Alligevel var han ved folketællingen 1803 urmager der. På det tidspunkt var har søn Claus Albertsen Fabricius, 40 år gammel, også urmager'.

Condition

Two weights of lead, pendulum and key is enclosed. No guarantee of the function of the movement. The case is in good condition, the lover part has a crack and damp marks. Wear due to age and use.
