A Schlesian octogonal covered goblet, near vertical cuppa on short facetted baluster stem, with octogonal foot, oval carvings under foot, cuppa parted in fields richly engraved with allegorical figures, prospect, putti, cornucopia and two central fields with weapon in a pilaster and trophy arrangement. Lid likewise richly engraved. C. 1750. H. incl. lid 28 cm.
Provenance: Olaf Dalsgaard-Olsen (1903–1988), director of Nordisk Film. Thereafter Jørgen Schou-Christensen (1937–2025) former museum inspector at Kunstindustrimuseet (today Designmuseet/The Danish Designmuseum).
Wear due to age and use. Lid with cracks and chips, repaired. Minimal chips on rim.
