An evening bag for ladies' use with bead embroidery in colours and gold in the form of flowers, lined inside, gilded metal mounting at the top with a metal lock, a hollow hemisphere at the bottom. 1820–30s. H. 13 cm.

Duchess Louise of Glücksburg had spent her childhood, youth and the first years of her marriage at Gottorp Castle and the country estate Louisenlund, and from 1825 her life was primary at Glücksburg Castle. She was widowed in 1831 and moved to Ballenstedt in 1848, where she lived with her daughter, Duchess Frederikke of Anhalt-Bernburg. Duchess Louise of Glücksburg died here in 1867.
