The signature reads 吴之璠 Wu Zhifan, active in the reign of Kangxi (1662–1722), was a native of Jiading, Jiangsu Province. He was excelled in all the techniques of the art of bamboo carving.
The main text reads 書罷籠鵝去,何須問主人 which is a sentence from a poem by the Tang dynasty Li Bai (701–762).
The main text is Tang dynasty monk calligrapher 懷素 Huai Su’s Autobiography. According to the signature, it seems this was carved by Sui Ping 蘇平.
According to the signature, the carver is also Su Ping 蘇平. The date is the year of Yiwei 乙未 which could be 1775, 1835,1895, or 1955
