'Breakfast at Tiffany's' premiered in the United States on October 5, 1961 and was an instant hit with audiences and critics alike, and Audrey Hepburn's portrayal of jewelry-loving Holly Golightly is now considered one of the best performances of her career. The film's rather odd title - breakfast has never been served at the luxury jewelry store 'Tiffany's' - is due to the fact that the main character Holly Golightly (Hepburn) in the opening scene is seen daydreaming in front of the store's windows as she eats her breakfast!
