The Art museums of Skagen own a smaller version with the dimensions 72×58.5 cm (Inv. No. SKM287). A gift 1928 from the New Carlsberg Foundation. Acquired from Anna Ancher. See Elisabeth Fabritius, “Anna and Michael Ancher. Letters and photographs”, 2018, vol. 5, letter 3673, dated 31.3. 1928. Here Thora Madsen (1858–1929) married to the then Director of Skagen's Museum Karl Madsen (1855–1938) wrote to Anna and Helga Ancher, that Karl bought the smaller painting for the Museum with money from the New Carlsberg Foundation.
